Earlier this month I did a ticketed event for The Blazin' Keys at the Childress Vineyards in Lexington, NC, just outside of Charlotte.
This was the second time performing in their event space, and 2 for 2, it was a great crowd and fantastic show. It's quite the fancy affair, and folks are usually dressed up, but they're always willing to let their hair down. My dueling partner this time was John Hilliard (with whom I've done several Blazin' Keys gigs, and, in my humble opinion, is pretty darn talented on way too many instruments!), and the show was a very short three hours long.
Of note, we had one guest who was being quite generous with his tips, and after we snapped a photo together, he mentioned he had been a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, and was even festooned with his Super Bowl ring. For the life of me though, I can't remember his name, and although I follow the Cowboys quite closely after having lived many years in Texas, I didn't recognize him. Anyway, he and I are pictured below, so shoot me a message if you know who he is. Ha!
Thanks again to the fantastic staff at Childress Vineyards, and thanks Blazin' Keys for having me. Till the next one...
